When testing different layouts and designs, it’s tough to know which one is working best. Sure, Google offers it’s free landing page optimizer/tester, but how do you know exactly which links visitors are clicking. How do you know if they are really doing what you want them to do on your pages? Short of looking over their shoulder, there is only one other way to know: enter CrazyEgg. CrazyEgg is a click tracking service that lets you visualize and analyze where your visitors are clicking on any given page. They will generate a heat map that shows you what links on a page are the “hottest”.

CrazyEgg offers a free trial for up to 5,000 visitors and 4 “snapshots”. This is more than enough to get a good idea of where your visitors are clicking.
